Poke Hoops is a Pokémon basketball draft game. Each round rolls a region and a type; pick a matching Pokémon and put it at point guard, shooting guard, small forward, power forward or center. Your five then plays an 82-game season and, if they make it, the playoffs.
Stats become basketball skills: Special Attack is shooting, Attack is finishing at the rim, Speed is ball handling, Defense is perimeter defense, Special Defense is composure, HP is stamina and weight is strength. Height counts most of all: centers live on it, and taller teams win the rebounds.
How to play
Pick a Pokémon from the round’s region and type.
Place it at an open position; each shows how well it fits.
After five picks, play the season and the playoffs.
Questions
Why does height matter so much?
Height is the biggest single skill, especially for centers and power forwards, and the taller team wins more rebounds in every game.
Can I use Legendary Pokémon?
One ★ Pokémon per team: a Legendary, Mythical, Ultra Beast or Paradox Pokémon.
